Caring for your plants

Most plants enjoy the light but not direct sunlight although there are a few which require only shade. They also enjoy a consistent temperature - keep them away from draughts, cold and direct heat. All plants should receive regular feeding during the growing season, according to the recommended instructions. Never over water plants or leave them next to a heater.

Tropical and Foliage Plants

Generally require warmth and benefit from a light misting with a water spray once a week to create humidity and to clean the leaves. Compost should be kept moist during growing season, but never allowed to get waterlogged, as this causes rotting of the roots and stem. Allow the compost to dry out slightly between waterings.

Flowering plants

Need to be watered more regularly. During flowering you should water daily to keep the soil moist and feed every fortnight.

Planted Bowls/Baskets

Should be kept at a constant temperature with good light. Keep them moist (without becoming water-logged) and feed once a fortnight in Spring/Summer. Dead heading can also be an advantage.
